SINNER NO. 10
A mystery to many (including themself), Dante is a recent amnesiac who lost all memories of their identity and the City they are from shortly after undergoing a procedure to exchange their original head for a peculiar prosthetic that resembles a clock. Their memories begin with twelve Sinners and their Guide rescuing them from an attempt on their life, and they are soon swept into the arms of Limbus Company’s LCB Division, where they are expected to function as its Executive Manager. Though it is insinuated that they were an influential and powerful figure in the City prior to the loss of their memories, Dante finds themself well in over their head in this sudden turn of events. They aren’t given a choice – they must travel aboard Mephisopheles and aid Limbus Company on its mission to secure the Golden Boughs, or else.

Besides their responsibility to manage and direct their Sinners to the best of their ability, their sole motivation is to “engrave the Aspect,” though not even they are able to put into words what that means – only that it resonates intensely with their mind, and their instincts and intuition guide them to it.

appearance
Slightly above average height, narrow-shouldered, thin-limbed, and slight. They typically wear their “uniform” in the form of a long, Limbus Company-emblazoned coat, a black collared shirt and gray-belted slacks, and a red tie. As they often wear gloves, they rarely bare any visible skin. Their head has been replaced with a unique prosthetic in the shape of a clock, the crown of which is crested with wavering gold and black flames.

abilities
rewind
“In fact, the door is everywhere. However, only you can see it. For the stars never set in your sky.”

Dante is able to fully recover all wounds up to and including death for the Sinners they have formed a “contract” with. They do this by “turning back the clock” on their injuries. Their procedure for doing so is by blocking out their sight and “following the star,” which leads them to a vast, empty metaphysical space where they find themself standing before the immense Gates of Hell. From there, they open the doors and reach within to find the soul(s) of the Sinner(s) they wish to retrieve from the mass of the other screaming, tormented dead. Once they grasp ahold of those they wish to rewind and pull them free, they suffer all the physical pain of their accumulative injuries (all at once, if they are rewinding multiple individuals at a time), and the retrieved Sinners are rewound to the physical wholeness they had prior to their injuries.
trivia
⏰ Contrary to what one might expect, Dante's face does not tell time. The clock-hands appear to be stuck at half-way between fifteen and ten to midnight, though they can be wound forward or back manually (sometimes resulting in bizarre and potentially concerning mental symptoms). I really enjoy this animation for how their "ticking" works!
⏰ Dante does not breathe, and they do not appear to need to. Their heart does beat, however.
⏰ Dante does not need to eat or drink (which is good, considering they can't).
⏰ Dante can only "verbally" communicate with ticking, whistles, chimes, and other inanimate sounds.
⏰ I truly have no idea if the flames on their head emit either light or heat. I typically tend to assume they don't and will play it as such, though, really, who knows.

BACKTAGGING: My lifeblood! No matter how old the tag is, I will always be overjoyed to receive it!
THREADHOPPING: Yes, that should be fine!
FOURTH-WALLING: I would say that characters from Earth can recognize that their name, Dante, and some of their characteristic traits are ones shared with and inspired by Dante's Inferno.
PHYSICAL AFFECTION: 👍
PHYSICAL VIOLENCE: 👍👍
RELATIONSHIPS/SEX: 👍👍👍 (Pending how threading and chemistry go!)
Though, really, I fully subscribe to ⏰ = 🚲, so talk to me about it if you're interested. 😏
OFFENSIVE SUBJECTS: Graphic eye trauma (not that it would relate to Dante, anyhow).
